Tips to get PR Ready for Fall
‘Tis the season to trade in your favourite slides for boots, but it’s not all bad, especially on the PR/marketing front. On top of having a new season to work with, you have a slew of festive angles to play up and you definitely want to make the most of it.
Here are my top 3 PR tips for fall:
1. Seasonal state of mind
It's not too late to pitch Halloween related content for the upcoming spooky season and it's not too early to see red and green for some holiday coverage. Think frugal tips for parents, wine, cocktails and festive foods. There's always an angle, sometimes you just have to dig deep.
2. Pop culture currency
There's usually new series premiering this time of year as well as Oscar-contending films hitting theatres or streaming devices. If you can tie a client product or service to pop culture, you're sure to secure some coverage.
3. Gift guides
If you took my Gift Guide Masterclass this summer you learned that July is actually the ideal time to start pitching if you'd like to be included in a print magazine gift guide. However, online and some broadcast gift guides won't require quite as much turnaround time. So, if you missed the boat on pitching magazines this summer, now is the time to look at your online and broadcast options. Get on it now before it's too late!
From Halloween and Thanksgiving to The Holidays and New Year – now is the time to get your brand out there. Curate special themed packages and tempting Holiday sales. There is a lot to gain and it is to your benefit to take full advantage.
